Holiday & Short Breaks Guide 2010

Tourism businesses in Hadrian’s Wall Country are being given the chance to take part in a new marketing campaign to attract more visitors to the region.

Overnight occupancy levels have reached record levels in Hadrian’s Wall Country in 2009, and are greater than those for the rest of the North East of England and the UK.

With more than half a million people visiting the Hadrian’s Wall website this year and over 25,000 people contacting the Hadrian’s Wall Information Line, interest in the area has never been higher.

Hadrian’s Wall is expected to be even more in the spotlight in 2010, with spectacular events and ambitious marketing campaigns putting Hadrian’s Wall Country firmly in the minds of visitors planning 2010 holidays.

To capitalise on this increased interest in the region, Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Ltd are inviting all accommodation and other tourism businesses to take part in their 2010 Hadrian’s Wall Country Holiday and Short Breaks Guide.

Neil Carney, the Marketing Manager of Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Ltd, says: “We want to give each and every business an opportunity to share in the potential that we know Hadrian’s Wall can deliver. Hadrian’s Wall is one of Britain’s greatest heritage assets, and visitors to Hadrian’s Wall Country can only benefit from knowing how much there is on offer to them. ”

He added, “The Hadrian’s Wall Country serviced accommodation sector has seen occupancy levels higher than the rest of England, in particular the Lake District and the rest of the North East. This is an outstanding improvement from the previous summer of 2008, and this guide will enable local businesses to benefit from the growing in interest in the area.

The Hadrian’s Wall Country 2010 Holiday and Short Breaks Guide is currently open for bookings until Friday 27th November, from as little at £150. Businesses that want more information can contact the Hadrian’s Wall Information line on 01434 322002 for more details.
