Contact the site(s) you are visiting.
You can find contact details on our interactive map.
Book your visit in writing. Remember to book any other facilities such as workshop or education room.
Book your transport.
Arrange and do a pre-visit to finalise educational activities, risk assessment and to familiarise yourself with the site. Even if your visit is being led, it is essential you familiarise yourself with the site in advance.
Prepare and brief all leaders and helpers on the purpose of the visit, what is expected of them, timing of the day (including lunch) and emergency procedures. Prepare them to take part in the activities.
