Living History has many definitions. We believe it to be a wonderful way of engaging with the past

- It involves people
- It involves props, often costume
- The participants suspension their disbelief of what is happening - they get involved
- This helps people to engage their feelings
- Like all good interpretation it can provoke a reaction from those taking part.
It can be a powerful tool for engaging children's attention, emotion and commitment to a topic and subject area. It can also embrace thinking, speaking and listening skills as well as self-esteem.
It can be set up by you, the teacher or group leader, or by a specialist practitioner.
